JSI-Turbo

The Jeven JSI-Turbo hood has been designed for kitchens where exhaust hoods with high efficiency grease extraction and supply air are needed.
The JSI-Turbo canopy is equipped with exhaust, supply and direction air, with damper plates and measurement taps. Supply air is introduced into the kitchen by supply air columns. In island models, the supply air columns can be located on all sides of the hood.

The TurboSwing filtering solution was developed for separating grease in professional kitchens. The fast rotating separation plate isolates even the smallest particles and throws them at high speed onto the outer edges of the separation chamber, from which grease and other particles drain into the collection basin. TurboSwing separates liquid grease and particles which are then removed by means of a tap. During an annual/monthly check-up, the TurboSwing dome and separation plate can be easily removed and washed in a dishwasher.

Functioning principle


  1. Cooking fumes rises due to temperature differences against the ceiling of the hood.
  2. Cooking fumes is exhausted immediately through the TurboSwing unit.
  3. Since TurboSwing’s air intake is placed close to the ceiling, the warmest dirty air is always exhausted through it. Ventilation efficiency is of the highest rate because of the correct position of TurboSwing with respect to the kitchen equipment.
  4. Direction air prevents leakage and directs steam and fumes towards TurboSwing.
  5. Fresh and draught-free supply air is brought into the kitchen through the supply air columns placed on the outside walls of the supply air hood. This results in very effective ventilation in the kitchen.
  6. Clean air is exhausted into the ducts.

The canopy’s base material is stainless steel, AISI 304. The side panels can be made of stainless steel (JSI-R-Turbo) or laminated glass (JSI-S-Turbo).

Distribution of supply air

Jeven supply air columns deliver a controlled and flexible distribution of the supply air. It is possible to wash the supply air columns in a dishwasher and the inside of the supply air chambers is easy to clean. These columns allow an individual adjustment of air patterns and air flows, which means a better indoor climate for the kitchen staff.

Installation

The hood shall be installed by hanging bars (f.ex. M8). These bars are not included in the delivery. Holes for the hanging bars should be drilled to the ceiling of the kitchen by using the shown fixture points.
Recommended height position of the hood is 2100-2200 mm.
Install plastic protective corner profiles on the lower end.

Cleaning


Depending on the kitchen’s utilization rate, grease should be removed daily / weekly or less frequently. Kitchen staff should always let the grease run from the tap to a grease receiver. When degreasing, always use a work surface that meets the requirements. Always wait until kitchen equipment has cooled down before starting the procedure.

Wall surfaces are cleaned in connection with the kitchen normal cleaning or, if necessary, separately. Cleaning is carried out with detergent for stainless steel surfaces.

Fascias should be cleaned during normal kitchen cleaning. About twice a year, it is advisable to detach the fascias and wash them in a commercial dishwasher. Fascias are easy to detach by lifting them up, tilting the lower edge towards you and then lowering the fascia out of the canopy.

Positioning of the hood

The size of the canopy is determined by the size of the kitchen equipment. The overhang depends on the type of equipment and the distance between the hood and the equipment.

For this type of equipment, the overhang should be at least 300 mm.
The typical distance between the hood side and the floor is 2100-2200 mm. If the equipment has any doors that open upwards, make sure that there is enough distance to the canopy.
